Caledonspoort and Bestersvalley Farm
One of the best-kept secrets in the Fouriesburg area is Destiny Castle, located close to town. This castle was built on Caledonspoort Farm and is linked with Bestersvallei Farm. The castle is situated right at the top of the mountain, offering a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Witteberg Mountains and nearby Lesotho. There are many stories surrounding the castle and its origins—one being that it was originally built by a Chinese emperor.
A 4x4 route leads directly to the entrance of the castle. If you prefer air travel, the castle has its own 800-meter airstrip, suitable for helicopters. If you'd rather enjoy a thorough tour of the property, Union House offers various tour options, and a guesthouse is available on-site for extended stays.
